Assembly of San Diego
What We Do
The Assembly committee was founded in 1953 by representative women of San Diego County brought together by the late Mrs. Henry B Clark. Incorporated as a non-profit organization with 100 adult members; The Assembly Committee held its first dance for members in September and December 1953, and June 1954. Our bylaws now limit us to 25 adult members per area.
Each year the volunteer board and committees from various areas of the county invite young people from these areas to participate in the dance series. The active adult members make arrangements for the parties and act as chaperones. The continuing purpose of the Assembly is to broaden the social experience of these member young people and to encourage county-wide friendships among them.
